Method
- Peel and thinly slice potatoes using a mandoline.
- Soak sliced potatoes in cold water for 15 minutes, then pat dry.
- Butter a casserole dish and layer 1/3 of the potatoes.
- Dot with 1/3 of the butter and sprinkle with seasonings.
- Drizzle with 1/3 of the cream and repeat layers and seasoning 2 more times. Top with butter, seasonings and rest of the cream.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 1-1 ½ hours until top is brown and potatoes are done.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cream mixture.
