Method
- Preheat oven and prepare cupcake batter according to box instructions.
- Bake cupcakes as directed on the box. Let cool completely.
- Divide frosting into separate bowls, one for each color you want to create.
- Add a small amount of gel food coloring to each bowl and mix well until desired color is achieved.
- Fill piping bags with colored frosting.
- Frost cupcakes with desired designs using piping tips. Consider using a star tip for rosettes, a round tip for smooth swirls, and a leaf tip for leaves.
- Decorate cupcakes with edible floral decorations and sprinkles/glitter, if desired.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow frosting to set.
