  • 10.75 ounces Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups thinly sliced peeled potatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion optional
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a bowl, combine soup, milk, and pepper.
  3. In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the potatoes, onion (if using), and soup mixture. Repeat layers.
  4. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  5. Cover and bake for 1 hour. Uncover and bake for an additional 15-30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk. Add shredded cheese during the last 10 minutes of baking for a cheesy topping.
