Method
- Place sliced potatoes and turkey ham in a bowl. Season with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper. Mix well.
- Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and whisk. Add 1 cup milk and 1 1/2 cups cheese, then remaining milk slowly. Boil, add remaining salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon parsley, and half the chives. Remove from heat.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray a casserole dish. Layer half the potatoes and ham, then half the cheese sauce. Repeat.
- Cover with foil. Bake for 75-80 minutes.
- Test potatoes for tenderness. Remove foil, sprinkle remaining cheese, parsley, and chives. Bake 15 more minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use a blend of cheddar and Gruyere cheese.
