  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chocolate Coating
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for melting chocolate)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar, then add molasses, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Combine dry and wet ingredients to form dough. Scoop onto baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 8-10 minutes, cool, then dip in melted chocolate.
  5. Set chocolate and enjoy your festive cookies!
