  • 1.5 lbs cooked turkey ham cubed
  • 1 medium yellow onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley

Method
 

  1. Grease the crockpot with butter. Whisk together cream, milk, flour, garlic, thyme, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Layer potatoes, ham, onion, cream mixture, and cheese in the crockpot.
  3. Repeat layering twice. Be gentle with the sauce.
  4. Cook on LOW for 6-7 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours. Do not open the lid for the first two hours.
  5. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top during the last 20-30 minutes. Let it sit for 15 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley.
