Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons milk Add as needed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Decorating
  • decorating icing
  • sprinkles or colored sugar

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Mix dry ingredients; set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg and extracts.
  3. Gradually blend in dry ingredients, add milk to form dough.
  4. Shape dough into balls, flatten, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  5. Cool cookies, then decorate with icing and sprinkles.
