  • 4 cups peeled and sliced potatoes
  • 2 cups turkey ham diced
  • 1/2 onion chopped
Sauce
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1 dried parsley
  • 1/4 pound cheddar cheese diced
  • 1 pinch paprika

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Layer potatoes, ham, and onion in a baking dish; repeat.
  3. Heat milk, flour, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan until thickened.
  4. Stir Cheddar cheese into sauce until melted.
  5. Pour sauce over potato mixture; sprinkle with paprika.
  6. Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.
  7. Bake until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour.
  8. Remove foil and bake until lightly browned, about 15 minutes more.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk.
