Method
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Layer potatoes, ham, and onion in a baking dish; repeat.
- Heat milk, flour, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a saucepan until thickened.
- Stir Cheddar cheese into sauce until melted.
- Pour sauce over potato mixture; sprinkle with paprika.
- Cover baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour.
- Remove foil and bake until lightly browned, about 15 minutes more.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk.
