Method
- Preheat oven to 180C/365F and butter a baking dish.
- Make seasoning mix: Combine flour, onion powder, garlic granules, salt, and pepper.
- Make milk mixture: Whisk milk and flour until lump-free.
- Wash, peel, and thinly slice the potatoes.
- Layer potatoes in dish, sprinkle with flour mix and butter cubes. Repeat until ingredients are used. Top with pepper.
- Pour milk mixture over the dish.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncovered for 20-30 minutes until tender and browned.
- Rest before serving warm.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a layer of shredded cheese before the final bake.
