  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/3 cup grated cheese
  • 2 Tablespoons crumbled turkey bacon
  • 1/2 Tablespoon chopped chives for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Melt butter in skillet, add flour, mix well.
  3. Whisk in milk until thickened.
  4. Add onion powder, garlic salt, pepper, and chives.
  5. Layer potatoes in baking dish.
  6. Pour cream sauce over potatoes.
  7. Sprinkle with cheese, bacon, and chives.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes until tender and golden.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of milk.
