  • 4 lb russet potatoes peeled and slice to about 1/4th inch
  • 3 cups cheese freshly grated
  • 3 cups diced turkey ham (I used 2 eight ounce turkey ham steaks)
  • 0.33 cup green onions thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp wholegrain mustard (can substitute with dijon)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes or cayenne (optional )

Method
 

  1. Slice potatoes, dice ham, grate cheese, slice green onions, and mince garlic and thyme.
  2. Combine heavy cream, chicken broth, mustard, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes in a bowl.
  3. Layer potatoes, ham, cheese, green onions, garlic, thyme, and cream sauce in a greased slow cooker, repeating 3 times.
  4. Cook on high for 4-5 hours until potatoes are tender. Let sit for 15-20 minutes before serving.

Adjust cooking time based on potato slice thickness.
