Ingredients
  

Apple Mixture
  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Mix well.
  2. Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add melted butter and vanilla; stir until crumbly.
  3. Layer apple mixture in CrockPot, then sprinkle crumble topping over.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours until apples are tender.
  5. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of ground ginger or nutmeg to the apple mixture.
